With a total turnout of 51.4% in the bye-elections held on Saturday to fill 14 seats in the Lower House of the Parliament, in nine constituencies there will be a runoff elections on October, 1, 2011.
Minister of Justice and Islamic Affairs and Endowments the chief of the Elections’ Safety Supervisory Supreme Committee Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa announced the results of by-elections conducted on Saturday in 14 constituencies.
The Minister said told a press conference that the winner in the second constituency in the Capital governorate is Ahmed Abdulwahid Jassim.
In the second constituency there should be a runoff between both Ebtisam Abdulrahman Hijris and Hashim Abdulghaffar Mohammed Al-Alawi.
In the fourth constituency there should be a runoff between both Abbas Abdullah Abdulhussain and Ali Abbas Abdullah Shamtout.
In the fifth constituency the winner is Hasan Eid Bu Khamas.
In the seventh constituency the winner is Abdulhakim Ebrahim Al-Shammari. In the eighth constituency there should be a runoff between both Jamal Mohammed Saleh and Kadhim Ahmed Ebrahim Al-‘Owainati.
In Muharraq governorate’s sixth constituency, Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, pointed out the winner is Abbas Isa Ali Hasan Al-Madi unopposed.
In the Northern governorate there should be a runoff between both Ali Ahmed Ali Al-Haddad and Ali Hasan Ahmed Ali in the first constituency.
In the Northern governorate’s second constituency the winner is Sawsan Hajji Ghuloom Taqawai. In the Northern governorate’s third constituency the winner is Ali Ahmed Ali Al-Durazi.
In the fifth constituency the winner is Salman Hamad Al-Shaikh Mohammed Al-Shaikh.
In the seventh constituency there should be a runoff between both Khalid Jasim Al-Malood and Abdulhameed Abdulhussain Ahmed.
In the eighth constituency there should be a runoff between both Mohammed Salim Bu Qais and Saima Ahmed Ebrahim Al-Linjawi.
In the ninth constituency the winner is Khalid Abdali Mohammed Abd-‘Aal. Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa said about the by-elections in the Central governorate that in the first constituency there should be a runoff between both Sumaya Abdulrahman Ali Ebrahim Al-Jowder and Osama Abdulhameed Abdulla Al-Khaja.
In the second constituency there should be a runoff between both Sameeh Ebrahim Abdulrasool Rajab and Ahmed Abdulrahman Mahmoud Al-Sa’ati.
In the fifth constituency there should be a runoff between both Ebrahim Ali Mohammed Al-Asfoor and Osama Jabir Ahmed Muhanna.
In the sixth constituency the winner is Jawad Abdulla Abbas Hussain unopposed.
The Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments and chief of the By-Elections’ Safety Supervisory Supreme Committee explained that the total turnout of voters was 51.4%. The Minister also explained that the runoff parliamentary bye-elections shall take place on Saturday October, 1, 2011.
