The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, held talks on Tuesday at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on the sidelines of the 66th Session with Ali Akbar Salehi, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The discussions touched on the situation in the region and the Kingdom of Bahrain interest regarding issues that would maintain security and stability in the region that must be based on the principles of good neighbourliness, non-interference in the internal affairs of States and the principles of international law and conventions.
The discussion also covered the need for serious commitment in establishing brotherly and friendship relations between both countries in order to achieve these goals and establish the foundations of security and trust for the benefit of both peoples and their common interests.
