Ministry of Labor submitted a detailed action plan pertaining to implementation of the national consensus dialogue views to the governmental committee tasked with the duties of follow-up and activation of the national consensus dialogue’s views presided over by Deputy Premier His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa.
The Minister of Labour Jamil bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, after his meeting with the ministerial committee, informed that the committee has studied the national consensus dialogue’s views which come within the Ministry of Labour’s jurisdiction and has finalized the setting of plans and programmes capable of efficient implementation and ensured their appropriateness with the Ministry of Labour’s plans and mechanisms. The committee ratified the results of its work related labour matters.
The Minister pointed out the Ministry of Labour’s plan comprised three main themes within the national consensus dialogue, namely the social, economic and legal themes in addition to considering the views raised by the various expatriate sects, religions, clubs and societies and highlighted the huge efforts undertaken by the committee since its formation in preparation of the action plan.
The Minister of Labor emphasized that the Ministry plans on laying down procedures capable of ensuring application of the relevant labor associations regulations in addition to boosting and disseminating the culture of labor unionism in both production parties and aims to develop negotiation and debating techniques and skills and the acceptance of the other in addition to raising union organizational capabilities to support the enforcement of rules and regulations and improve productivity.
Regarding the view to find solutions for unregulated workers, Humdaidan said that the Labor Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) will work on the implementation of an integrated action programme over the long and medium term primarily aimed at remedying the roots of this phenomenon and curbing its negative implications on the labour market in particular and on the community as a whole. On the other hand, the plan aims at laying down procedures capable of controlling this adverse phenomenon and bringing it under control within a minimum limit and removing its impact on the labour market’s stability both for workers and the economy.
The Minister of Labour said that the crystallization of these views and transforming them into substantial reality will boost the labor market reformation progress in which the Kingdom made big strides thanks to the continuous support from the wise leadership to the Labor Ministry’s projects in addition to implementation of the essential, pivotal goals for development of the political, economic and social life in the Kingdom.
