The governmental committee, in charge of following up on implementation of the National Consensus Dialogue’s recommendations, convened under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa and in the presence of the committee members and heads of the themes.
Shaikh Mohammed stressed the government’s keenness to implement the visions as scheduled after finalizing all legislative and executive tools.
He said what has been accomplished so far will bring about further achievements to the nation and citizens. He pointed out that many visions which require constitutional amendments are now ready to be placed before the committee next week in order to take the appropriate measures regarding them. While reviewing the political theme, the committee revealed that ten out of 25 visions have been finalized after taking the necessary executive procedures regarding them by concerned ministries and government bodies.
The committee also listened to an account about 20 other recommendations which are being carried out and which require quick legislation to meet the popular will. As for the five other visions which need political decisions, it has been decided that they be forwarded to the cabinet to take the necessary measures regarding them.
The committee, then, reviewed the 83 visions pertaining to the economic theme out of which 82 are being implemented. Concerning the social theme which comprises 85 visions, 24 have been finalized while 56 are being implemented, out of which 5 require political decisions, and it was revealed. Cabinet Affairs Minister Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed presented an account about those visions and the mechanisms being adopted to implement them.
The committee decided to refer a number of recommendations to the cabinet to take appropriate decisions regarding them in its next meeting.
