Bahrain security forces on Friday thwarted an attempt of group of saboteurs and thugs who stormed the Bahrain City Center in the afternoon and start terrorizing peaceful shoppers, including women, children and visitors.
The Ministry of Interior in a statement said that it had brought the situation back to normal at the Bahrain City Centre Commercial Complex after it had been raided by saboteurs who wreaked chaos and terrorized visitors. “The security forces arrested the perpetrators and legal procedures are being taken,” the Interior Ministry said.
The Interior Ministry has reaffirmed its commitment to self-restraint in assuming its national responsibility to protect security and stability and ensure citizens and expatriates’ safety.
The ministry reiterated its firm resolves to assume its lofty mission and role in the framework of law. The statement followed a spate of rioting and acts of sabotage perpetrated by gangs of thugs across Bahrain to terrorize people – citizens and expatriates. The terror campaign followed instigative calls posted on social networking sites. In the same statement, the ministry said that a group of saboteurs and outlaws stormed City Centre around 4 p.m, intent on sowing chaos and terrorizing shoppers. Security forces and policewomen had then to intervene and deal with the saboteurs and outlaws. The minister extended its sincere apologies to City Centre management, citizens and expatriates for any inconvenience the operation might have caused.
