Bahrain University’s chancellor Dr. Ebrahim Mohammed Janahi said that our topmost priority was full cooperation between all community denominations for the sake of ensuring open academic atmospheres teeming with highly patriotic sense of responsibility, surmounting the recent events and the security and safety of all university students, faculty and staff members.
The university chancellor, on the occasion of the near advent of the beginning of the university’s academic year 2011/2012, reiterated that the university has taken all the necessary actions in order to ensure the safety of all university students, academicians and staff members.
He remarked that safety sought by everybody emanates from a consecrated inner feeling of the right to get an education and creative interaction between all community components so the University of Bahrain will reign in stability and cooperation which has been the norm over the years.
“We rely on the Bahraini student’s maturity and good judgment of things, and we encourage the student to optimize the investment of his or her years of tertiary study in terms of scientific aspects as well as a set of constructive activities which brush a student’s personality in order to fully integrate into the university components which represent a microcosm of the not only the local Bahraini community but also the whole world in the light of the diversity of students and academicians for the sake of creating universally open-minded students.
Dr. Janahi said that as long as the university remains the most appropriate place to ensure and consecrate our national unity citing that our national unity is not only a journalese jargon – in the lack of which societies may slip into a state of repulsion and backwardness and fail to attain their goals as a result of unrest which deprives everybody without exception psychological security and stability.
The University of Bahrain’s chancellor called on all parents to encourage their children to seek knowledge, pointing out that the government grants generously to the university in order to graduate generations supported with knowledge and the various sciences and that more than 42 thousand graduates from the university through the past years have assumed various governmental and top echelon positions.
Dr. Adnan Mahmoud Al-Tamimi, the Students’ Dean said that the most important thing to happen in the short upcoming period is the students’ preparation day to be held on 22nd September 2011 to familiarize students with the university’s rules and regulations, facilities, services with participation from students’ societies and the distribution publications which inform them on how to avail fully from the university, get to know their rights and obligations during studies.
“Freshmen will make programmed tours inside the colleges where they belong in order to become familiar with their specialization and college more closely,” Dr Al-Tamimi said.
“Students deanship shall make preparations in collaboration with the various students’ frames early this year for the National Day celebrations and the university’s silver jubilee.”
