Action Global Communications, the truly independent, full service, public relations consultancy, has reached its 40th year of operation, marking four decades of working with many of the world’s top brands.
In this time the company has built up a wholly owned and strong affiliate network across Central and Eastern Europe, Russia, the CIS Countries, Central Asia, the Middle East, North Africa and the Mediterranean area.
Action has been present in Bahrain since 2002 and now has an office located in Manama with a team of six staff.
“Being part of the Action Global Communications network means we will continue to lead the way through our results driven approach”, said Jeoff Barraclough, Action Group Regional General Manager in Bahrain.
“Because we have been established in Bahrain since 2002, we have a strong belief and business confidence in the Kingdom. We will continue to invest in Bahrain and to grow our business by providing communications solutions that leverage international expertise along with our local market knowledge.”
“In the late 1980’s my vision was to build a business that was to become the first full service public relations consultancy in the emerging markets. Now those same emerging markets are not only the focus of global attention but also drive the global economy,” said Action Group Founder and CEO Tony Christodoulou. “As the company grew we found that, while we offered our clients effective communications combined with strong local knowledge; we also had to help educate local media and other influencers to understand the value of what we were doing.”
Covering a region that stretches from Kazakhstan and Pakistan in the East to Morocco and Belgium in the West, the Action network is still at the forefront of this process. With the rapid rise of social media and the crucial importance of digital communications, Action has led the way in the use of new age communications channels; channels that can cut through traditional and often highly regulated local media.
Founded in Nicosia in 1971 Action’s first client was the British Overseas Airways Corporation, which later became British Airways, and it marked the start of a 40 year relationship with the airline. In 1988 Action opened the first, now the oldest, full service PR firm in Athens, and so the creation of the current network of 44 offices began. The next few years were to see the Action brand swiftly established in the Middle East and Eastern Europe.
“Action Global Communications has invested in the resources and the people to give our clients the edge in this new world of instant news,” Christodoulou, added.
“We have gone out of our way to employ really great people in each country who truly understand their market and the dynamics of the business we are in. In the future our intention, as it has been for the last 40 years, is to continue to deliver superior results across the board for our clients and expand our network into countries and places where others fear to tread.”
