Bahrain Bourse (BHB) and WAVETEC Technology Company sealed an agreement whereby the company will start the project of installing an outdoor LED ticker to display live trading activity of the listed companies and other related information during and after the trading session. The agreement was signed by Fouad Rashid, Director of the Bourse, and Ahmed Feraz CEO of WAVETEC.
Fouad Rashid said that the signing of the project agreement comes in line with BHB’s ongoing efforts to provide investors with more channels that enable them to monitor live the trading activity and price movements of securities in the market, as well as enhancing the disclosure and transparency levels at the bourse in particular and in the capital market sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain in general. The LED ticker will also participate in introducing and informing the citizens, residents and visitors from GCC countries and other countries about information on dealings conducted on listed companies and the bourse’s location.
The director of the Bourse revealed that the size of the outdoor LED Ticker is 128 square meters, which makes it the largest financial fully colored LED ticker in the Gulf region. Bahrain Bourse has also the longest fully colored indoor running electronic ticker among GCC bourses with 62 meters length. The project is expected to complete within 6 months. The ticker will be installed on the front top façade of the bourse location at the Bahrain Financial Harbour, overlooking the commercial district of Manama and the King Faisal Highway, which will make all information and data displayed on the ticker visible all the time for the users of the area, which is considered one of the most active and dynamic areas in the Kingdom as it connects most areas in Bahrain with the commercial and financial district in Manama and Seef area.
“The bourse will continue to take all the required and possible actions to make all information of the trading and listed companies available on the ticker, which will contribute in increasing the awareness of investors and others interested in the bourse. The bourse will also give the listed companies and other institutions the opportunity to benefit from the ticker to shade light on products, services and facilities that they offer to their clients and the public in the Kingdom of Bahrain.”
“As part of its Global vision WaveTec has been actively involved in projects which are aimed towards promoting transparency and information dissemination. We are proud to be technology partners for Bahrain Bourse and our relationship goes back to a decade,” Tobias Bessone, the general manager of WAVETEC, said.
“Because we have been providing display solutions to the financial markets in the middle-east for the past 20 years, we understand the needs and sophistication required for such projects making us the first choice vendors for display solutions. We thank Bahrain Bourse for choosing us as their technology partners and we look forward to strengthening our relationship with them.”
“This project includes a customized LED ticker that was designed according to BHB’s technical specifications.”
