Led by Shaikh Mohammed bin Essa Al-Khalifa, the Chief Executive of the Economic Development Board (EDB), a Bahraini business delegation will take them to London, Birmingham and Manchester. The delegation is joined by the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and representatives from the private sector.
Over the five days of the visit, the delegation will hold meetings with officials and corporate representatives from selected sectors in the three cities to examine opportunities of joint cooperation, attract manufacturing and commercial investments, and help create more jobs for Bahrainis.
The delegation will hold meetings with businesses in numerous sectors that include professional services, technology, ICT, general manufacturing, automotive, plastic, chemicals, and aluminium.
On the first day, the delegation paid a visit to British Expertise, the leading UK private sector organization for British companies offering professional services.
The Bahraini delegation learnt about the services provided by British Expertise, which introduces its members to key British and international contacts, identify potential partners and clients, and offer them market intelligence and training.
Ambassador Alice Samman welcomed the delegation to Bahrain’s Embassy, where they exchanged views on ways to enhance cooperation and investment between Bahrain and the United Kingdom.
The delegation includes Essam Fakhro, Adil Al Dailami, Khalid Ameen, Ebrahim Al Langawi, Ebrahim Zainal, Khalid Al Zayani, Samir Nass, Jawad Al Hawaj, Tawfeeq Al Moayyad, Samir Al Jishi and Ala Ali.
The Kingdom of Bahrain is host for 520 British agencies in the fields of pharmaceutical, engineering, journalism, food, fashion, and automobiles. Around 88 British firms operate from Bahrain in the fields of banking, oil, insurance, investments and others. The Bahrain British Business Council (BBBC) was launched in 2007. Its aims include facilitating trade and investment flows by which British businesses can maintain and grow market access to Bahrain, and providing British and Bahraini companies with market intelligence, business information and advice on legal and financial regulations when pursuing bilateral trade.
