The Kingdom of Bahrain on Sunday joined the other nations in celebrating the World Food Day, which falls on October 16.
Municipalities and Urban Planning Affairs Minister Dr. Jumaa bin Ahmed Al-Kaabi stressed the importance of food security as a safety net for all social categories, pointing out the responsibility of the international community to ensure decent living conditions for people.
In a statement issued on the eve of the World Food Day, he reaffirmed the ministry’s resolve to pursue its national agrarian strategy as part of a vast programme to provide food, support farmers and livestock farmers, apply latest agricultural applications and preserve resources towards achieving sustained food security.
