Minister Lieutenant General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa received director of Bahrain-based UN regional office in charge of anti-narcotics programmes and projects for the Middle East and North Africa Faisal Hijazi and Deputy Resident Representative of the UN Development Programme (UNDP) Firas Ghraiba, in the presence of Southern Governor and member of the National Anti-narcotics Committee Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa.
He reviewed areas of cooperation between the Interior Ministry and the UN in combating drug consumption and trafficking within the framework of an agreement signed by both sides. He also hailed the strenuous efforts of the international organization to curb the issue through various activities and programmes. The meeting was attended by the Inspector General and the Criminal Investigation and Forensic Evidence Director.
