The Human Rights and Social Development Ministry undersecretary for Human Rights Saeed Mohammed Al Fahini affirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain had taken several steps towards reinforcing tolerance and reconciliation between various sections of the society since its independence.
Al Fahini said that this was achieved through the founding of various worship houses for all religions allowing all to practice their religion freely.
The Kingdom he said also empowered the minorities including the Jew and Christian faiths by attaining representation at the parliament and achieving leadership roles reflecting the wise policy adopted the Kingdom of Bahrain under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
In a speech delivered at the Human Rights Council in Geneva, Al Fahini said that Bahrain had witnessed an unequalled tolerance and reconciliation in the region represented in the issuing of more than thirteen pardons for a number of those who had been sentenced in cases related to society and were freed to reinforce social reconciliation.
