The Bahrain-US Council hailed the reform and democratic strides led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa to achieve Bahrain people’s aspirations.
“No doubt, the Kingdom of Bahrain is on the right path to consolidate the reform process which started in 2001 towards anchoring the rule of the law and state institutions”, it said in a statement issued on Friday.
It cited the multi-party National Dialogue, which yielded recommendations aimed at consolidating constitutional and legal guarantees, as well as the successful by-elections, which saw three female MPs enter the Parliament.
“The decision to establish the Bahrain International Commission of Inquiry, following His Majesty’s initiative, has revealed to the world Bahrain leaders’ resolve to give everyone his/her due right and document last February-March events”, the panel said, hailing the establishment of the Compensation Fund and the medics’ retrial before the a civil court.
“Such steps echo well on the international arenas is Bahrain stands at the forefront of reform in the Middle east”, the statement said.
