Bahrain Coastguards on Thursday said that they were able to extend help to four seamen exposed to incidents in the Northern offshore.
The first incident was reported to the Coast Guard at around 5:00 am on Wednesday after the collision of two boats at sea one of which ran away from the incident scene. Two Asian seamen who were on board have been rescued by coast guard patrol. One of the two seamen was seriously injured and had to be immediately rushed to hospital. Investigation was still going on to find out the other boat involved in the incident in order to bring the culprit before court.
A second report came to the Coast Guard informing that a boat was stranded with two men on board off Shaikh Isa Causeway after running short of fuel.
Coast guard patrol was sent to the area as report came in that one of two seamen on board the stranded boat had drowned as a result of steering wheel failure. The patrol salvaged both men and took them by ambulance to hospital for medical treatment.
