With the back log for the applications for house seekers reached 50,000, Housing Minister Bassem Al-Hamer received a group of Chinese developers and heads of companies and updated them on housing plans and investment opportunities in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The Chinese delegation arrived in the Kingdom of Bahrain as part of a tour organized by the finance ministry.
The Economic Development Board (EDB) gave a presentation, outlining Bahrain’s investment opportunities streamlined procedures, economic environment and strategic geographic locations. The projects spearheaded by the private sector have also been spotlighted.
Housing Ministry assistant undersecretary for housing projects Sami Bouhaza’a gave an update on key projects since the independence of Bahrain.
Bouhaza’a pointed out the great challenges facing, particularly the housing applications which top 50,000.
He also highlighted the ministry’s plans to address the housing issue by building new towns – such as the Northern Town, the North Hidd and Eastern Sitra to accommodate up to 23,000 applications, in addition to the construction of housing blocks.
The Housing Bank also staged a presentation spotlighting services provided for citizens and projects.
