The Information Affairs Authority said it spared no effort to document all the violations and crimes, perpetrated in the Kingdom of Bahrain during the recent deplorable events, and communicate them to local, regional and regional audio visual and print media.
In a statement d the IAA denied allegations that it had failed to correct false information provided to foreign media regarding the occupation of the Salmaniya Medical Complex.
“As an official Government department, the IAA has documented all violations perpetrated by so-called “doctors”,” the statement said. The IAA has also pointed out that it recorded their confessions, which revealed the extent of the conspiracy they had plotted.
However, it said that it would not publish those confessions, unless authorized by the Military Prosecutor.
The IAA voiced its dismay as some parties chose to ignore the efforts it exerted to correct wrong information defaming Bahrain’s reputation and status.
It slammed the issuance of statements without referring to concerned authorities.
It pointed out that it is sparing no effort to liaise daily with world media and news agencies and respond to published reports.
The media consulates based in the US and the UK are also playing a crucial role in countering these allegations and fallacious reports seeking to sully Bahrain’s allegations.
The IAA establishes direct contacts regarding any published, broadcast or telecast information deemed defamatory to Bahrain’s image, for any misinformation to be corrected timely.
The IAA has held several press conferences for Human Rights and Social Development Minister and Acting Health Minister Dr. Fatima Al-Balooshi and other senior health officials to reveal the truth, in the presence of foreign media, about the violations and crimes perpetrated by so called “doctors”.
The IAA translated all the court verdicts and charges and broadcast them live on Bahrain TV in both Arabic and English.
It has posted verdicts and charges on Bahrain News Agency and social networking sites in Arabic, English and French.
It has also conducted 15 TV and radio interviews yesterday to counter allegations and wrong information. Documentary films have also been shown to reporters representing foreign news agencies and published multilingual booklets in cooperation with the health ministry. The IAA has also translated a lot of films documenting crimes and distributed them to world media agencies. NGOs delegations visiting Bahrain have also been supplied with documents and film laying bare the extent of the conspiracy plotted by medical cadres.
The IAA statement dismissed deliberate falsification of the truth and the twisting of facts by some news agencies and channels as unacceptable and unprofessional, contravening claims of impartiality, neutrality and balanced media coverage.
It said that the doors of the Kingdom of Bahrain remain wide open for anyone seeking the truth, and nothing but the whole truth.
