The Minister of Industry and Commerce Dr Hassan Abdulla Fakhro on Sunday told a Press Conference that annual event Invest In Bahrain would be held on Wednesday under the kind auspices of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister.
The Minister said last year around 1000 delegates attended the event and this year organizers were expecting more attendance from across the business spectrum.
“Invest In Bahrain” Forum, to be held at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre under auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and in cooperation with the Economic Development Board (EDB), Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), “Tamkeen” Labor Fund, GCC Federation of Chamber as well as participation from financial institutions including the Islamic Development Bank and the Arab Banking Federation.
A group of eminent personalities, businesspeople and investors from the GCC, Arab and friendly countries are expected to participate: Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, the United States of America, Switzerland, India, Azerbaijan and South Africa.
“The Ministry of Industry and Commerce intends to boost liaison between decision-makers in the public and in the private sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain as well as from abroad in addition to creating suitable opportunities for contacts and open dialogue between the concerned parties in both sectors to assist in making appropriate decisions as well as the removal of obstacles which might hamper investment operations,” the Minister said.
“The Ministry of Industry and Commerce aspires to see the forum as a regional platform for businesspeople, investors, conglomerates and banks to exchange points of view and to act as an umbrella for active participation from both the private and public sectors and raise our national industries global competitiveness with the objective of opening new markets for products,” he added.
