The First Middle East Process Engineering Conference and Exhibition (MEPEC-2011) opens on Sunday at the Gulf Hotel International Convention Centre.
Energy Minister Dr. Abdulhussain bin Ali Mirza will inaugurate the four-day event, in the presence of specialists and experts from GCC and foreign countries.
“The conference aims at exchanging information and practical expertise relating to all the aspects of process operations, including oil and gas production, refining, petrochemical industries, cost-reduction, protection of the environment and productivity”, Dr. Mirza said.
He described MEPEC-2011 as in line with the wise leadership’s drive to turn Bahrain into a hub attracting specialized events which promote the national economy and boost trade activities.
In its first edition, MEPEC witnessed overwhelming response, with over 45 exhibitors from many local, regional, and international companies, suppliers, manufacturers participating in the exhibition held in parallel with the conference. MEPEC is sponsored by 32 companies, Saudi Aramco as the prime sponsor.
