His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa patronises today, at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre (BIECC), the “Invest in Bahrain 2011” Forum.
The one-day Forum is organised by the Industry and Commerce Ministry in cooperation with Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), Economic Development Board (EDB), Labour Fund (Tamkeen), the Federation of GCC Chambers (FGCCC), the Islamic Development Bank and the Union of Arab Banks.
HRH Premier’s patronage of the event denotes to his keen interest to support investment in all the Kingdom’s economic sectors and reflect his directives to facilitate investment procedures so as to increase revenues, provide job opportunities for the citizens and boost the national economy.
This year’s edition of the forum, organised by the Industry and Commerce Ministry to woo investments into the kingdom and reassert its competitive and productive potentials, will present 16 investment opportunities in the services sector, 6 in information and communication technology sector and 8 in the transport one, and highlight the facilities provided by the government for investors.
A group of eminent personalities, businesspeople and investors from the GCC, Arab and friendly countries are expected to participate in the forum in which light will be shed on the role played by Bahraini and Arab banks in backing private sector projects.
Since 2003, the Industry and Commerce ministry has taken advantage of the Forum to promote the kingdom’s investment potentials and benefits, especially in the industrial sector.
Holding the forum in the Bahrain for the sixth time in a row is a living proof that industrialisation is a strategic policy adopted by the kingdom to raise economic growth rates and upgrade the citizens’ living standards through creating more job opportunities for them.
The Ministry of Industry and Commerce is looking forward to making the forum as a regional platform for businesspeople, investors, conglomerates and banks to exchange points of view and an umbrella for active participation from both the private and public sectors for the aim of upgrading the Kingdom’s national industries’ global competitiveness with the objective of opening new markets for national products.
