First Vice-Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport and President of the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF) Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa and the President of Youth Welfare and President of the Saudi Olympic Committee His Royal Highness Prince Nawaf bin Faisal Al Saud attended, in the presence of the Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh and Representatives council Chairman Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Dhahrani, a dinner banquet hosted by the Saudi Ambassador to Bahrain Dr. Abdul Mohsen bin Fahd Al Marek in honour of HRH Prince Nawaf, marking his visit to the Kingdom to attend the opening ceremony of the first GCC Games “Bahrain 11”.
Shaikh Khalid welcomed HRH Prince Nawaf, and lauded the steadily-growing solid historical Bahraini-Saudi relations, which, he asserted, represent a unique model of bilateral ties based on family bonds and common destiny, stemming from their shared fundamentals and visions. They also exchanged cordial talks on ways of enhancing bilateral cooperation at all levels, especially the sport and youth ones. On his part, the Saudi Ambassador hailed the outstanding bilateral relations, asserting that holding the first GCC Games in the kingdom will enhance communication and rapprochement between athletes in the two countries and their GCC counterparts.
