The Supreme Criminal Court of Appeal will convene on October 23 to consider the case in which 20 Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC) doctors have been indicted.
“Several defendants have already appealed the verdicts issued by the National Safety Court”, Senior Attorney General Abdulrahman Al-Sayyed, said on Sunday.
In a statement issued on Sunday he said that the door remains open for other defendants to file an appeal. The BDF Military Judiciary has already referred the case to the Public Prosecution.
Under law decree 28 for 2011, the verdicts issued by the National Safety Court remain appealable, as they are not final.
The defendants will also have the possibility to contest the yet-to-be issued appeal verdicts before the Court of Cassation.
