The Secretary General of the League of Arab States, Dr. Nabil Al Arabi met with the President of the Union of Arab Banks Adnan Ahmed Yousif, and both reviewed the course of the Arab banking and financial situation as a whole, and in the Arab countries that have seen popular mobility.
Yousif explained to Dr. Al-Arabi the action plan that the Union of Arab Banks implementing to support the banking business, particularly in countries affected by the events that have recently witnessed, notably Libya, Tunisia and Egypt. Adnan stressed the importance of the Annual Arab Banking Conference for 2011, which will be organized by the Union in Beirut during the period 24 and 25 November 2011 and will discuss the future of the Arab World in view of the recent developments.
The conference will allocate special day for “Libya” aims to support Libyan people and investment in this country, in response to the invitation of the Arab League.
Dr. Al Arabi appreciated the activities of the Union of Arab Banks and the leading role being done to address the current and emerging financial and banking conditions in the Arab region. Al Arabi praised the efforts of the Secretariat General of the Union, which was the first to respond to demand of the Arab League from organizations and institutions affiliated to the League to the support economies of Arab countries, which saw a popular movement recently.
