His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa called on the international community to boost efforts to promote values of tolerance, love and peaceful co-existence throughout the world.
In a message to the world to mark the International Day for Tolerance, on November 16, he stressed the significance of promoting the culture of tolerance due to existing conflicts in many parts of the world.
“Tolerance is a pre-requisite to achieve global security and stability,” he said.
“Bahrain has set throughout its long history a model of tolerance and will always remain a nation where the culture of love and co-existence among all people, irrespective of their races, doctrines and religions, will thrive.”
“Bahrain has relied in boosting tolerance and co-existence on fusing Islamic precepts, which preach good treatment and dialogue, with the inherent Arab values.”
“The principles of tolerance constitute a milestone in the development and modernization project of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa thanks to a modern and proactive vision that has turned Bahrain into a land for co-existence and openness among all components,” HRH the Prime Minister affirmed.
“Tolerance and co-existence are inherent characteristic features of the Bahraini families. Therefore, we must all work together to thwart any attempt to drive wedges and undermine national security and stability,” he stressed pointing out the importance of the National Consensus Dialogue in expressing the popular will.
“The recent regrettable crisis has had a negative impact on the nation. However, with our rich heritage, we are able to overcome its pitfalls and emerge stronger to further build the nation and ensure its prosperity,” he said pledging to hold those who tried to harm the nation and drive wedges accountable.
He also credited citizens for their strong patriotism, loyalty and keenness to preserve the kingdom’s hard-won achievements.
HRH the Prime Minister hailed the UN Secretary General’s speech marking the International Day for Tolerance stressing Bahrain’s keenness to enhance cooperation with the United Nations and its agencies to promote international security and stability.
