His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s continuation on its democratic path that it has adopted as a road towards achieving more progress and stability.
His Royal Highness Prince Salman also lauded His Majesty the King’s decision that was characterized as courageous in forming an independent commission of inquiry expressing the interest of the Kingdom of Bahrain represented in the King, government and people towards the success of the commission’s recommendations and their implementation for the interest of all.
His Royal Highness who was accompanied by a high profile delegation of officials from the kingdom said during his meeting with the German Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. Guido Westerwelle that the entire Arab region was transiting into a new phase that requires all to unite efforts to overcome its crisis and achieve what the people of region aspire towards stability, security and advancement. He also emphasized the importance of reinforcing women rights and accomplished more achievements in the region expressing within this context what Bahraini women had achieved on all levels. His Royal Highness also during the meeting discussed several issues on the bilateral level between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Germany in all fields including the economic, security and cultural level. Moreover, during the meeting topics of high importance related to GCC and Middle East region were reviewed. In response to a question on the Iranian file during a joint press conference held following the meeting His Royal Highness urged Iran towards more transparency and clarity related to its nuclear file considering the Kingdom of Bahrain’s experience with regard to the independent commission of inquiry as an example that could be made use of by all countries in the region in interacting with their delicate issues with complete transparency. His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa had arrived today to Germany on a work visit that would last two days. He was received upon his arrival by a representative from the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Bahrain’s ambassador to Germany Ibrahim Al Mahmood along with senior officials. As part of further strengthening Bahrain-German relations His Royal Highness will meet German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Professor Norbert Lambert. This visit that includes a number of ministers and senior officials accompanying His Royal Highness comes towards achieving a new beginning in the political, economic, cultural and educational relations existing between the two countries. Moreover, this phase had witnessed a great development in this bilateral relation achieving the interest of His Majesty the King in further bolstering these relations that had yielded great and outstanding results.
