Bahrain reaffirmed commitment to undertake all measures towards addressing the aftermath of the unrest.
“We all committed to a future based on justice, equality and respect of human rights for all Bahrainis”, Human Rights and Development Ministry said.
In a statement issued, it announced that the ministerial taskforce would draw up a time plan to implement all the recommendations cited in the BICI Report, in cooperation with the international human rights watchdogs.
It expressed the hope that the report would bolster confident in society, pointing out that Bahrain would continue efforts to scrutinize this year’s events and draw the lessons.
It vowed to take all necessary measures to rebuild the bridges of confidence between all social components and anchor the culture of human rights.
It also hoped cooperation with international partners would ensure the success of the process aimed at promoting reform and addressing the aftermath so as to avert a flare-up of the unrest in the future.
In the same statement, the ministry described the BICI Report as reflecting Bahrain’s commitment to reveal the whole truth – including shortcomings.
“The BICI Report promotes national reconciliation and respect and seeks to protect human rights in Bahrain”, it said.
It hailed the report, describing it as being comprehensive, professional and impartial.
It expressed its determination to spare no efforts to promote reconciliation and co-existence in Bahraini society.
In this regard, it has already started a frank discussion of the BICI Report with local and international partners to gauge all views and hear all opinions prior to starting a feed-back.
