Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Ambassador and Head of the National Committee for the Banning of Chemical Weapons Abdullah Abdulatif took part in the work meetings of the 16th Banning of Chemical Weapons agreement conference. The meetings are being held in Lahai from November 28 to December 2. A total of 188 member states took part in the meetings.
The undersecretary delivered the Kingdom of Bahrain’s speech during the conference at the general discussions related to the importance of the eradication of weapons of mass destruction towards a more secure and stable world.
He also affirmed the country’s support towards agreements that are based on cooperation and world peace. Moreover, he highlighted Bahrain’s achievement in this field by issuing law no. 51 for 2009 related the destroying of chemical weapons in addition to forming national committees related to banning such weapons.
