Bahrain News Agency (BNA) took part in the three-day general assembly of the Arab News Agencies Union conference in its 39th edition being held in Doha, Qatar.
Acting Director of BNA Mohannad Sulaiman said that in line with the directives of the President of the Information Affairs Authority (IAA) Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, BNA was keen on its participation in all GCC and Arab media events along with international ones in addition to reviewing means of cooperation on all levels.
He also indicated that the conference had discussed a number of reports and studies prepared by Arab and foreign experts related to the development of news agencies and its future in light of the technological development affecting it.
BNA Acting Director said that special session with expert trainers would also be held to discuss activities of the union for 2011.
He also stressed that the conference reviewed the topic related to the best report, best photograph and ways of improving the economic section and the news gathering section. Sulaiman also congratulated Qatar News Agency newly appointed director on his new post wishing him continued success.
