The Samena Telecommunications Council has honoured Etisalat`s group, with four awards on the sideline of the Samena Conference Convergence to Doha 2011 which was held at Sharq Village & SPA by Ritz Carlton Hotel.
The awards include the Best Technical Leader of the Year (GCEO), the Best Business Leader of the Year (Mobily); the Best Broadband Service Provider (Mobily) and the Best Operator South Asia (PTCL).
Ahmad AbdulKarim Julfar, CEO Etisalat group was honored as the best chief technical leader for the year 2011. He was awarded this prize for his exceptional leadership that took the group to 18 countries around the globe.
Julfar was appointed Group CEO Etisalat Group in July 2011. Currently, he is on the board of two of Etisalat’s international subsidiaries: Mobily of Saudi Arabia, where he is the chairman of the risk management committee; and Excelcomindo of Indonesia. He began his career at Etisalat in 1986 and served previously as Manager of Customer Service, General Manager of E-Company and more recently as the General Manager for Dubai market in 2005.
