The CAFB 2011 French Week takes place from 16 to 22 November 2011 in Bahrain is set to bring an incredible amount of entertainment, events and exhibitions, coming directly from France taking place across the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The French Week 2011 is being held under the patronage of HH Shaikh Nasser Bin Hamad Al Khalifa, President of the Bahraini Royal Equestrian and Races Capacity Team Leader and Royal Chairman of the Board of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, and is being organised by the Bahraini–‐French Business Club (CAFB) and it’s 2011 French Week Committee headed by its President Ms. Betsy Mathieson in conjunction with the French Embassy and the Alliance Francaise de Bahrein.
The third edition of this spectacular event promises to be even bigger and better than ever before! Get a taste of France by taking in the delights of exquisitely prepared French cuisine at one of the many French inspired dinners taking place across the Kingdom at locations such as The Golden Tulip, The Capital club, Upstairs Downstairs, Camelot’s and of course the closing ceremony dinner being held at the Sofitel Bahrain.
Entertaining performances by the French Folk dancers of La Bourree, and different swing and jazz bands can be seen at City Centre on the Francetastic centre stage, along with an interactive exhibition on the life of French poet & musician Georges Brassens, or why not experience the essence of French Cinema at the French Week Film Festival playing 5 French films over the week free to the public.
School children will be delighted by performances from Rosemont the magician, while art lovers will be inspired by the many art and photography exhibitions taking place at the Bahrain Art Centre and Jamsheer House by talented artists such as Didier Audebert, Gianni Soglia and Marion Cougnon, with opportunities to meet the artists themselves.
There are also a few fun sporting events to participate in or spectate at. The Gourmet Golf day at the Royal Golf Club, Riffa by mixing sport and gastronomy as well as the French classic petanque tournament at the Golden Tulip Hotel will be salient features of the week.
