His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa paid a visit to the headquarters of the General Command of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) on Thursday.
HM King Hamad was welcomed by the BDF Commander-in-Chief Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, State Minister for Defence Affairs Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa and the chief-of-staff Major-General Shaikh Daij bin Salman Al Khalifa. During the visit, HM the King met a number of BDF senior officers who extended to him their heartfelt congratulations on the advent of Eid Al Adha, wishing him continuous good health and happiness.
HM King Hamad congratulated them on the same occasion and requested them to convey his greetings and best wishes to all BDF affiliates, wishing Bahrain and the Arab and Islamic nations a happy return of the event.
BDF senior officers also extended to HM King Hamad their sincere condolences and consolation on the sad demise of His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bins Abdulaziz Al Saud, praying Allah Almighty to rest his soul in eternal peace.
HM the King expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to all BDF senior officers for their noble feelings, praising the Late Prince Sultan’s distinguished qualities, landmark contributions and the crucial role he had played in consolidating the outstanding historical Bahraini-Saudi ties, especially regarding military cooperation.
HM King Hamad asserted that Saudi Arabia is the backbone of both Arab and Islamic nations. HM King Hamad also paid tribute to all BDF staff for their loyalty and dedication in the service of the beloved country, affirming that their determination, discipline and high morale are always commendable.
HM the King also took pride in the BDF’s progress and advancement at all levels, especially in terms of equipment, training and professionalism of its affiliates, stressing the importance of consolidating military cooperation and complementarities with GCC, brotherly and friendly countries for the interests of the region.
He also wished the BDF every success.
