Minister of Energy Dr. Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza inaugurated the temporary Central Control Room (CCR) for Petroleum Development Company’s operations in the company’s offices located opposite Bahrain Oil Well No. 1 near Jebel Dukhan.
The central control room monitors and runs oil/gas field operations in Bahrain for expansion of oil and gas production, hydro-injection facilities. This is the first step aimed at shifting and pooling all oil/gas processes to a centralized location.
The production team will be able to directly coordinate on a daily basis from the central control room which provides monitoring 24/7 of all oilfield operations in Bahrain including storage, injection, gas pressure and electricity distribution. Continuous operations provide field processes follow-up and prompt response in any cases of emergency and organizing processes more efficiently which reflects positively in the form of increased productivity.
This facility shall be shifted to another permanent location in the foreseeable future to include monitoring of unassociated gas processing facilities currently located within the dehydration units.
Dr. Mirza said that this vital central control facility is a new phase for the control and monitoring of Bahrain’s oilfield and he expressed his delight at seeing the Petroleum Development company a leader in exploitation of modern technologies and latest state-of-the-art automated control and operation plants that help increase productivity.
