Following His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa’s instructions to ministers and officials from all government departments to pay field visits to development projects, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Minister Dr. Joma’a bin Ahmed Al Ka’abi has inspected a number of dilapidated houses that are being re-constructed as part of the noble royal gesture of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
The minister was informed on the progress of work in those projects and received the citizens’ comments on the houses that have been already repaired.
He also asserted that the houses that are still under construction should meet the citizens’ satisfaction, reiterating the ministry’s resolve to provide the needed support, in line with the directives of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Royal Charity Organisation (RCO) Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa to spare no effort for the sake of ensuring the success of such a pioneering national project aiming to enhance urban development in the kingdom and improve the citizens’ standards of living.
On their part, the citizens extended their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to HM King Hamad for his instructions to demolish and reconstruct dilapidated house at the expense of the state, describing the project as a “distinguished” one that allows them to have new housing units that meet their expectations and needs.
They also praised the design and quality of the houses that have already been reconstructed.
Members of municipal councils also hailed the project, stressing that it reflects the wise leadership’s keen interest to provide decent housing units for low-income citizens in their native towns or villages in order to preserve the kingdom’s social fabric.
It is to be noted that within the national programme to repair or re-build dilapidated homes, the Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry designs the new house according the needs and desire of the family, which is a unique example in the region.
It is being carried out and followed up by the Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry, RCO and all concerned government sides in order to ensure its success.
