The Ministry Works awarded 66 tenders worth BD97 million in the past nine months covering roads, sanitary and construction projects, Bahrain’s Works Minister, revealed.
The Minister of Works Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf, on the sidelines of the Bahrain-India Society reception, told media reps that the Ministry had also invited bids for another 66 tenders worth BD42 million.
The reception was part of the society’s monthly programme that aims at closely get acquainted with local, regional and global personalities that have contributed and influenced the development approaches in Bahrain.
During the meeting, which was also attended by CEO Abdul Nabi Al Shoala, Faroq Al Moayyed and a number of Bahraini and Indian businessmen, Minister Khalaf highlighted the Ministry’s many responsibilities related to infrastructure needs and requirements.
He also referred to the role played by the Ministry in providing high quality services and contributing effectively to the urban boom in the Kingdom, which can be witnessed in a number of mega projects such as Khalifa bin Salman Port in Hidd, the Remote Aircraft Apron Project at the Bahrain International Airport, Khalifa’s Sports City Project and a number of other projects.
