Rioters broke on Thursday into Al-Manhal Girls Primary School, in Hamad Town, after the end of the school day, and committed acts of sabotage by smashing windows and damaging equipment in the administrative and academic blocs.
Specialized security authorities were called up and an investigation was launched into the incident. State-run schools in Bahrain have been targeted eight times over the past two months in a series of attacks including vandalism, arson and theft. These attacks are a continuation of other aggressions which have been targeting schools for the past years. The Education Ministry denounced continuous encroachment on the sanctity of educational establishments in the kingdom which aims to disrupt education and deprive students of their inalienable right to education in a safe environment.
