Bahrain Bourse, the owner of TradeQuest Investment Challenge (TQ) recently organized the first “Strategy Presentations” session for the participating teams for this school year at its premises at the Bahrain Financial Harbour.
During the session, the participating teams presented their “Investment Strategies” and anticipated their financial performance for the upcoming trading periods of the program to the “Investment Review Committee (IRC)”. The IRC consists of representatives from various financial and banking institutions sponsoring the program as well as Bahrain Bourse.
The “Investment Review Committee” basically evaluates the presentations of the school teams, the effectiveness of their investment strategies, their overall knowledge of the basic principles of investing in stocks, risk management and other related topics.
Bahrain Bourse has organized a number of lectures and workshops for the participating students prior to the start of the first trading period of the program to introduce the concepts related to investment in stock markets and management of a portfolio of instruments listed on the New York Stock Exchange and Bahrain Bourse, as well as the rules and regulations applied in these markets.
This year’s TradeQuest program includes 7 school teams, and they are Al Noor International School, Bahrain School, Ibn Khuldoon National School, Abdul Rahman Kanoo International School, Naseem International School, St. Christopher’s School, and a team representing the government schools.
Various financial and banking institutions in Bahrain are participating in the program by sponsoring it and conducting lectures and workshops that are held during the program, and they are: Gulf International Bank (GIB), Securities and Investment Company (SICO), United Gulf Bank, Investcorp Bank, CFA Bahrain, Social Insurance Organization, Bahrain Institute of Banking & Finance (BIBF), University of Bahrain, and the Ministry of Education.
