Chief Executive Officer of the Economic Development Board (EDB) Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa said that Bahrain’s geo-strategic position serve as a gateway to the one trillion dollar GCC market.
He was addressing a meeting with a delegation from the Computer Chamber Of Commerce of the Chinese Guangdong Province.
Shaikh Mohammed discussed with the members of the delegation the possibility of setting up a number of projects in the kingdom, such as a regional shopping mall.
He also highlighted the competitive incentives of the Bahraini economy and the advanced position enjoyed by the kingdom regarding economic diversity and freedom, as indicated by recent world indices.
He also briefed them on the kingdom’s suitable and positive investment atmosphere which encouraged prestigious mega world companies to invest in Bahrain thanks to its distinguished location as a main gate to the one trillion dollar GCC market.
The Guangdong Computer Chamber Of Commerce delegation is accompanied by representatives of a number of pioneering Chinese travel, tourism, construction, trade and electronics companies.
The EDB held a meeting with another Chinese trade delegation from Ningxia Province and highlighted investment opportunities offered by the kingdom.
The two sides also discussed the possibility of setting up joint projects in a number of vital sectors such as construction, solar energy, real estates, banking, agriculture, food and trade.
