Also present in both workshops was Bapco’s Chief Executive, Faisal Al-Mahroos who said that the purpose of both workshops, which were preceded by a Schlumberger course was to exchange global expertise with leading international companies in oil industry which greatly contributed to developing non-natural gas resources in USA.
Al-Mahroos said the rock blocks in deep layers of the Gulf region are triple size of the rock block in the area of Al Khuff which carries deep gas representing 40% of world’s gas reserve, and that those deep layers generate the natural gas, the matter which gives these layers a special significance. The Chief Executive added that the global expertise of the international companies is essential in drawing production solutions for deep layers, indicating that the major goal of both workshops was to transfer this global expertise to Bapco. Al-Mahroos said exploration technologies are fast growing and this will help enrich local expertise in a short while.
