Bapco has set a new record for monthly crude throughput, the highest average monthly record at the refinery of 271,300 barrels per day. The new record, set in November, is a major accomplishment compared to the Refinery’s average capacity of 262,000 barrels per day.
The previous highest crude throughput record of 270,300 barrels per day was achieved in May 2008. This new achievement is the result of Bapco’s high performance in operations, regular controls and check-ups, and ongoing maintenance in addition to the concerted efforts and professionalism of its workers and technicians in the units and the Refinery’s support teams, including utilities, storage and shipment, said Bapco Acting Chief Executive Gordon Smith, on behalf of Bapco’s Chief Executive, Faisal Al-Mahroos. Smith expressed satisfaction with this latest accomplishment, hailing Bapco’s commitment towards achieving excellence in all its operation and bolstering its status among leading oil refineries worldwide.
