The business community urged economic cooperation and investments to be boosted between Bahrain and France.
Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Dr. Essam Abdulla Fakhro made the comments as he received today at Beit Al-Tejjarr Bahrain-France Parliamentary Friendship Society Chairman Mp Francis Saint-Leger.
He stressed Bahrain’s capacity to take off again and resume growth momentum thanks to its viable economic infrastructure.
He underlined Bahrain’s attractive investment environment and streamlines procedures – which turned Bahrain into one of the most attractive destinations for investments and projects.
He also urged the French side to remove impediments hindering the development of bilateral economic relations, stressing the necessity to ease up travel procedures for Bahraini businessmen to enter France.
Dr. Fakhro hailed the vital role of France as an EU member in removing economic and non-economic obstacles which are now hindering efforts to seal a GCC-EU free trade agreement.
He urged negotiations to be fast-tracked so as to boost joint economic and trade relations and investments and open wide horizons for the private sector in both countries. He stressed the importance of projecting the true picture of the current situation prevailing in Bahrain, amid efforts undertaken by the wise leadership to address all contentious issues.
BCCI second deputy chairman Abdulhamid Abduljabbar Al-Kooheji, board members Jawad Al-Hawaj, Kadhim Al-Saeed, Mohammed Sajid, Khalid Al-Amin and Ahlam Janahi and chief executive officer Ibrahim Ahmed Allanjawi attended.
