Minister of Energy Dr. Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza will lead Bahrain’s delegation to the World Petroleum Council’s (WPC’s) 20th Conference due to be held in Doha in the sisterly State of Qatar. The conference takes place from December 4-8, for the first time in the Middle East region under the slogan: “International Olympic Games & the Oil and Gas Industry.
The Minister is expected to deliver the Kingdom of Bahrain’s speech in the initial session under the topic: ” Energy Solutions from the Middle East and to discuss projects, future plans for the oil and gas sector and cooperation between the National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA) and international oil firms and the Kingdom of Bahrain’s attractive facilitation to overseas investments and the solutions which contribute to growth of the energy sector worldwide.
The Minister of Energy said that the Kingdom of Bahrain’s participation during the WPC’s Conference for this year 2011 comes as an explicit translation of the of the wise leadership’s keenness to boost the Kingdom of Bahrain’s accomplishments and representation at regional and international functions as manifested in NOGA’s executive strategy for this purpose.
WPC’s conference is due to be held in the Middle East for the first time which is considered the source of oil and gas exports to global markets and which boasts 60% of the world oil reserve and 40% of its gas reserves.
The WPC’s conference is attended by a large number of ministers, CEOs, private and public organizations, industrialists from the WPC’s sixty member countries and the conference’s official patrons. There shall be more than 60 speakers besides 700 students and young professionals amid remarkable international press coverage.
The WPC’s conference, originally established in 1933, is held every three years in one of its member countries.
