The GCC heads of states are set to discuss and review what has been achieved so far and take decisions in the political, economic, social, security and legislative fields for the common interest of GCC citizens in the upcoming 32nd GCC Summit, according to GCC Secretary General.
The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, marking the 40th National Day and the 12th Anniversary of HM King Hamad’s Accession to the Throne.
In a statement to Bahrain TV on the sidelines of the reception ceremony held by the Kingdom’s Embassy in Riyadh to mark the National and Accession Days, Dr. Al Zayani lauded the landmark achievements attained thanks to HM King Hamad’s pioneering Reform Project at all levels, especially regarding democracy, supremacy of the law and respect of human rights.
He also described HM the King’s decisions to establish the Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry, consisting of eminent and neutral international experts, and the National Commission (BICI) in Charge of Implementing BICI’s recommendations as “unprecedented and bold” ones that have made every Bahraini citizen feel proud of HM King Hamad’s leadership, wisdom and adherence to transparency.
Al Zayani also affirmed that HM King Hamad’s acceptance of BICI’s recommendations whole-heartedly is a source of pride for all as they (BICI recommendations) will help meet the aspirations of the wise leadership and people, citing the Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al Faisal’s statement in which he congratulated Bahrain on its wise leadership and the GCC on the existence of Bahrain in it, as he chaired the last ministerial meeting.
