Hundreds of protestors in Bahrain on Wednesday clashed with the security forces in Manama as they tried to enter unlawfully to the secured area of Farooq Junction previously known as Pearl Roundabout and GCC Roundabout.
According to eyewitnesses around 500 to 700 people gathered from Sanabis and other areas gathered at Farooq Roundabout, currently under-construction and closed since the ugly incidents of February March, tried to break into the cordoned off areas ended up by clashing with the security officials. There are no immediate reports of injuries from either side.
Apparently the mob was angry about the demise of a woman who sometime back got injured as a rod pierced through her forehead and since then she was in a critical condition.
In the meantime, in a statement posted on the Bahrain News Agency website and quoting an official source at the Ministry of Health said that a 27 year old Bahraini victim who had sustained injuries in an attack with an iron rod and admitted into Salmaniya Medical Complex on Friday 18 November 2011 died on Wednesday December 7 at 05:15 am.
The same source was quoted as saying that she died of circulatory trauma which led to septicemia complications.
