Labour Minister Jamil Humaidan chaired the first meeting of the Joint Supreme Committee between the Labour Ministry and Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI).
He stressed the importance of partnership between both sides to upgrade the labour market pointing out the significance of the committee in boosting general policies aimed at further strengthening the national economy and promoting stability of the labour market.
“The next phase demands concerted efforts to re-vitalize the production momentum in Bahrain in light of the diversified economic policy adopted by the government,” the Labour Minister said, pointing out the incentives and facilities provided by the government for the private sector.
“Upgrading the private sector is a strategic goal for the government due to its key role in employing the national labour force,” he added pointing out the Labour Ministry’s training and rehabilitation projects of the Bahraini workforce to feed the labour market with productive competencies.
The Labour Minister has issued decision 96 for 2011 stipulating the re-structuring of the afore-mentioned committee which will be chaired by Labour Ministry Undersecretary Sabah Salim Al Dussari and mandated with studying and following up on issues of common concern to the Labour Ministry and BCCI.
