The board of directors of Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) at its meeting approved the master plan of the new refinery which will enhance the capacity of daily production to 450,000 barrels.
Bapco board of Directors decided to continue progress the Refinery Master Plan Project, during this historic meeting. The board approved the new refinery configuration which will increase the capacity to 450,000 barrels per day (bpd) from the current 265,000 bpd. The project also involves several upgrading units which will convert black oil products to more valuable white products like diesel. Moreover, Bapco’s energy efficiency will increase drastically. Overall Bapco will become one of the most competitive and sophisticated refineries. Bapco has been the backbone of Bahrain’s economy for the past 80 years. With this new investment Bapco will be much more strong and competitive and continue to contribute to Bahrain’s economy for many more decades to come.
