The Public Prosecution Bahrain has referred a case of torture and mistreatment by employees of the Ministry of Interior to the High Criminal Court, Chief Public Prosecutor Nawaf Hamza said on Thursday.
The transfer is according to an order by the Military Court that the case does not fall under its jurisdiction. Hamza added that the charges in the case included 5 members of the police force; two of which were charged with torture and mistreatment of a detainee that led to death. The other three defendants were charged with negligence, for their failure to report the incident.
The court case has been scheduled for 11th January 2012.
