Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport and President of the Bahrain Football Association Shaikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa congratulated the wise leadership and the Bahraini people on the Bahrain National Football Team’s winning of the gold medal of the soccer competitions of the 12th Arab Games, concluded last night in Doha, after defeating Jordan 1-0 in the final match.
He also extended congratulations to the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport Chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, noting that such a historic victory reflects the Bahraini squad’s excellent performance during the recent GCC and Asian competitions.
He also asserted that the medals achieved by the kingdom during the Arab Games testify to steady progress of the Bahraini sport movement, under the leadership of Shaikh Nasser.
Shaikh Salman also praised the efforts exerted by the players, members of the technical and administrative staff during the tournament, which, he said, impressed spectators and observers and re-affirmed the Bahraini football’s position.
