The Minister Khalaf stressed the Ministry’s keenness to closely follow up all projects implemented in the Kingdom, one of which is the King Faisal Detour Road Project, which consists of the construction of a 4 lane detour road to carry traffic movement from east to west along the King Faisal Corniche. The Minister also directed for a speedy implementation to the project, highlighting a number of difficulties facing the project.
The project also includes forestation and beautification works on both sides of the 4 new lanes, to be done in coordination with the Ministry of Municipalities and Urban Planning, and the City Beautification Committee. Works also include the construction of a new pedestrian bridge along the existing bridge, which aims to provide a safe crossing between the parking lot and entertainment facilities and King Faisal Corncihe.
“The traffic movement heading to and coming from Bahrain Financial Harbour has also been taken into consideration, for the purpose of connecting the area to King Faisal Highway and thus improving traffic flow and increasing safety level,” the Minister said.
“Proper coordination is taking place with the General Directorate of Traffic to implement all necessary traffic diversions, prior to opening the project for traffic,” he added.
