BBK, Bahrain’s pioneer in retail and commercial banking, has made the announcement everyone has been waiting for, the winner of the grand prize draw of $500,000.
The draw, in Al Hayrat’s 10 year Anniversary, offered Bahrain’s biggest single lump sum cash prize of $500,000 and was carried out on the 18th January 2012 under the supervision of Yasser Buallay Ministry of Commerce Representative and Bank officials. Al Hayrat is BBK’s unique savings account that presents exciting opportunities for its customers to win prizes while they save.
Fawzea Marzooq Ali Al Marzooq, a Bahraini housewife from Sehla, was announced as the lucky grand prize winner. She received the star treatment, commencing with being collected in a stretch limousine along with members of her family and was presented with a cheque for $500,000 by A. Karim Bucheery, CE of BBK in the Main Branch on the 31st January 2012 during a special handover ceremony. The reception was attended by GM Shaikh Rashed Al Khalifa and Reyadh Sater, alongside senior members from the Bank.
The grand prize draw represented the culmination of a year’s worth of prizes totalling $1,500,000. All investments made by 15th December 2011 were eligible for the draw. The greater the amount invested, the greater the chance of winning.
Upon receiving the news of her win, Fawzea Al Marzooq praised God for this wonderful blessing and vowed to immediately donate a good portion of her prize to the needy. Other than that, her plans to spend the money were not defined yet.
The winner’s Ghassan A. Aal also used this opportunity to express his thanks and appreciation to the Bank and its employees for their excellent service over the years.
