Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba) honoured two of its employees who made Bahrain proud by winning the gold medal in Bowling at the 12th Quadrennial Pan Arab Games 2011 in Doha, Qatar in which 21 nations from across the Arab world took part.
Mahdi Asad, Cold Side Senior Operator at the Casthouse, and Mohammed Sultan, Supply Officer at the Strategic Supply and Planning Department, made their winning move as members of Bahrain’s National Bowling Team at the multi-sport event.
“Throughout its 40-year history, Alba has encouraged its employees not only to excel in sports but also contribute to the growth of sporting life in Bahrain. It is, thus, a moment of pride that two Alba employees secured a Gold Medal in Bowling at the 12th Quadrennial Pan Arab Games 2011. This accomplishment raised Bahrain’s profile at this prestigious sporting event as well as succeeded in highlighting Alba’s commitment to sporting excellence,” Alba’s Chief Executive, Laurent Schmitt, said.
The Pan Arab Games, organised by the Union of Arab National Olympic Committees, are a regional multi-sport event held between nations from across the Arab world. The goal of the games is to connect the youth from the different Arab countries, and enable them to build together a common Arab identity.
