The Foreign Ministers of Arab League who met in Cairo on Sunday called upon the Syrian Government to end the ongoing blood bath in the country immediately.
The call came as the Saudi delegate wants to pull its monitors out of the Arab League monitors from Syria, jeopardising the role of the Arab monitors in Syria. However, the Secretary General of Arab League Nabil Al Arabi said that the council of the Ministers of the League were still in consultation about the fate of the monitors in Syria.
The Meeting also called upon the opposition and the Government to engage in dialogue to break the deadlock over the growing violence in Syria. The Prime Minister of Qatar announcing the outcome of the Arab League Foreign Ministers meeting said that the League also urged Syria to form a representative Government within 60 days.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs Shaikh Khaild bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa took part in the Arab League meeting on the ministerial level in its extraordinary session held at the league’s headquarters in Cairo to review a report on the monitors related to the situation in Syria.
The ministerial council members were briefed on the report of the Arab League monitors in Syria presented by its head Lt Gen Mohammed Al Dabi on the situation that included the outcome of the search in accordance with the protocol signed between the Arab League and the Syrian government.
